Arroyo Seco Live provides Annual Support grants of $1500.00 in ARTS SCHOLARSHIPS to Taos High School graduating seniors, $2,500.00 in HEALING ARTS SCHOLARSHIPS to anyone in Taos County for Yoga Teacher Training, $5,000.00 in LITERACY ARTS SCHOLARSHIPS to Taos School Corp. students in need of Dyslexia Counseling.
The Arroyo Seco Live Healing Arts Scholarship
Mission:
To support community members in their training to become healers in the community and to support the education of long standing alternative healing modalities. Arroyo Seco Live acknowledges the unique place that is Taos and the pillar the healing arts act as in our community and the ways these arts nourish the creativity in community by healing the psychical and energetic bodies. Arroyo Seco Live recognizes the healing arts as an important creative action in building community and scholarships like this allow community to bloom.
Purpose:
To provide financial assistance to local Healing Arts students wishing to become active in the local community and to live and give to the community in ways which would strengthen it. Arroyo Seco Live will host scholarship recipients for a class series at Joy Yoga or the Stage Space (weather permitting) after they complete their education on a specific healing modality.
Award:
One (1) $2500 scholarship award to one (1) individual per calendar year dependent on available funds.
Requirements to apply:
Must live in 87514 or adjacent zip code (87525, 87529, 87571, 87580, 87513), must be 20 years or older, have demonstrated passion for the Healing arts (i.e. plant based therapies, body work, craniosacral, bee venom therapy, movement based therapy, Alexander, meditation, spiritual healing, and music healing modalities), have plans to provide their teachings/healings to the community of surrounding areas, be willing to teach a 3 class series/hold community sessions on the basics of their healing modality through ASL and Joy Yoga partnership within 1
calendar year of their award receipt or 1 year of completing their education (whichever is first).
Requirements for submission:
800-1000 word essay, two recommendation letters; one from Healing Arts Instructor, one from someone who has known the applicant for more than 5 years and is not related.

What brought you to your life path of healing others?
Please make sure the selection committee is able to understand why you are passionate about healing in our world and community, and share your intentions for integrating the Healing Arts education into a service for the surrounding community. We want you to paint us a picture of your past experiences, passions and goals so we can begin to understand who you are and how our investment in your education will ultimately strengthen the Arroyo Seco/Taos community.
